Interview
In preparation for our show at ANF Architects, Martha Kelly and I were interviewed by Kacky Walton at WKNO-FM today. It will air on Thursday morning.
I had to sketch the microphones - they look like an alien robot!

My Grandparent's House
We went to my grandparent's house in Georgia for Labor Day weekend. I'm headed back for a sad occasion, but it will be good to be with the family.

Cooper Young Festival (So Far Behind)
I am so far behind on posting that I'm just now getting to Cooper Young Fest, which was over a month ago.
It was super fun! This little girl, Amie, was watching me sketch the Pronto Pup stand (below), with that very unimpressed look on her face, and I asked if I could sketch her. She didn't respond, but she did continue to stand there with that look on her face.
Most of the day was actually spent like this, hanging out on Shannon and Brian's porch.
Clara let me draw her, and I let her write her name on the sketch. Then she suggested that I color it in, because it would look better in color, but I declined.
Max and his friend sold lemonade.

Sketching at a Bar, Like I Do
This messy little sketch was fun to make. I went to the Hi-Tone to pick up some pizzas I had ordered for a sleepover I was having with my girlfriends. When I got there, they said they were having problems with the oven and that it would be a little while on those pizzas. I pretty much said, "Great! That'll give me time to sketch!" So that is what I did.

Bookclub
Bookclub meeting for the book Cloud Atlas.
This first page consists of notes from painting, notes about the book, and testing out a new pen. Also my favorite quote from the book.
The dining portion of our evening is very important. Sometimes Albus the dog will join in (the 2nd of these two sketches).
Our ratings and Shannon's kitchen.

Band, Bar and Birthday Party
A couple of weeks ago (if I want this to be a what-I-sketched-today blog, I have to sketch and scan every day, apparently) I went to a fun birthday party, saw my friends' band play at the Daily Planet, then continued the birthday party at the Cove with Hope Clayburn's Soul Scrimmage.
