Waiting

I made this sketch to try to loosen up before meeting with commission client #1 on New Year's Eve. I get oddly nervous before doing a sketch portrait, so I thought I'd just put pen to paper for a few minutes before they got there. I guess it worked!

Lunch with the BFF

I got to have lunch with Heather a couple of weeks ago when I was working from home. Her daughters requested that I sketch something, then insisted that I color it! They would have preferred more color, but I like it as it is :)

Cars & Trees

Parking lot! I had fun using my Pentel brush pen for those super dark shadows, but didn't have time to do much to the background.

Speaking of Portraits...

This is from The Cove, where I met a couple to sketch them at the beginning of their date. It was a married couple, so no pressure on the whole date thing, though the guy did not know what was going on - it was a surprise from his wife.

We had a nice chat and they left with a sketch and I left and got take-out Ethiopian for my regular at-home Saturday night date with my husband.

More Portraits

New Years Eve was a busy day for me. Started the day with portrait commission #1, two little boys who were so sweet and patient.
Next was portrait commission #2, at a lovely home in Eads, where I made sketches of everyone as they went about their visiting. That's six girls ranging in age from 12 to about 20, and three adults. They were lovely people and I had such a great day making all of this.

Sorry these photos aren't much - took them with my phone. I need a portable scanner ;)
