Urban Sketchers Symposium Day 2, Part 4

I could not stop sketching, so I went to Pioneer Square to sketch at Flicks on the Bricks.

I'm really proud of the bottom sketch - overview of the crowd.

Saw this character and had to sketch him

Urban Sketchers Symposium Day 2, Part 3

Urban Architecture with Matt Brehm, at which I learned that just because it's pencil, doesn't mean it has to be fast.

This was kind of fast and sloppy until Matt came up and showed me how to slow down - he actually drew on my sketch! I haven't had someone mark on my artwork since I was in school a bazillion years ago. But it did help - see below...

This is my favorite from this session.

Urban Sketchers Symposium Day 2, Part 2

Got a chance to sketch the food carts. I felt like this one needed color - this one was definitely inspired by Gabi. While there, got a sunburn and a waffle sandwich.

Urban Sketchers Symposium Day 2

Urban Line with Lapin at everybody's favorite bridge

I think everyone at the symposium had at least one sketch of the steel bridge

After making the involved color sketch above, I had to do a quick grey one

Empty plates and one leftover takoyaki

Urban Sketchers Symposium Day 1, Part 2

Tia Boon Sim took us to this very colorful storefront to work on Urban Color.

This is a panorama. You'll notice there's no color - I just needed some pencil time.
